While serving your country, you learned leadership, discipline, and a whole host of other valuable skills.
Now put those skills to work in a civilian job where you can continue to make a difference, grow your career, and enjoy the many benefits the state has to offer.
Step 1: Register in our online recruiting system (update link to NEOGOV registration), and be sure to answer questions 9-14 on “ Tab 2” of the agency wide questionnaire to ensure you receive any preferences for which you are eligible.
Step 2: Search for jobs that match your skills
Tip: Think about how your military experience translates into civilian jobs, and use those terms in your search. Look beyond the obvious for jobs where you could apply all that you've learned as a veteran.
Step 3: Build an online profile (resume) and use it to apply for multiple jobs
Tip: Remember that your resume will be read by civilian employers. Avoid acronyms and military lingo. Describe your experience in terms that would be understood by a friend or neighbor who hasn't been in the military.
